This popular diet trend helps you clear out your body of toxins, while also reducing bloat and trimming a few pounds. To put this into perspective, a 7 day detox diet can help you lose between 5-15 pounds in the 7 day cleanse program. Sounds too good to be true, huh? There’s a catch.
The detox plan involves consuming a balanced diet and drinking plenty of water during and after the detox plan. It encourages the intake of extra macronutrients, vitamins, minerals and amino acids.
It is not a cure, but rather a way to help manage symptoms associated with anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions. People can undergo the detox plan at any time during their illness, regardless of how long they have been ill. There are many different types of detox plans available, so be sure to find one that best suits your needs and situation.
A detox plan begins with a high intake of vegetables. Remember to choose locally grown, organic fruits and vegetables. They will help to cleanse the body and jack up your metabolism. Got this? Great.
The second phrase of the detox diet is to stick to water and fresh juices for three days. Fresh juices help you lose weight very quickly, as they fill you with essential vitamins and minerals while making you feel full.
For breakfast and snacks, you should have smoothies or juices made with fruits, vegetables and plant-based drinks, such as almond or oat milk. Dinner should be a liquid meal, preferably a detox soup or a vegetable puree.

It is recommended that you consume at least half a gallon of water per day, but you should never force yourself to drink more water than you need, since this can cause water intoxication.
