What you need to know before you bring home a new puppy
A new puppy is a huge commitment, but it can be one of the best decisions you make. Before you bring home your new addition, there are a few things you’ll need to know and few puppy essentials you need to at home. To help you ease the stress, we’ve prepared a list of supplies that will come in handy during this exciting time.
Do your research
Spend some time researching the breed. This will help you make a better informed decision about which breed to bring home. You should also do research on the specific breeder or local shelter in case you’re planning an adoption. This will help you avoid puppy mills, unethical breeders, and shady businesses that are only in it for the money.

The next thing on your new puppy checklist is to plan what you need to have at home on the day one. Of course, feel free to use our new puppy shopping list template to take this task off your list quicker.
Choose the lucky one
The last thing to do, arguably the most important one, is to choose the lucky puppy you’re going to bring home!
As for specific breeds of dogs - there's no hard rule on which ones would suit each individual person better than others; all depends on what one loves most about them specifically (and if any allergies exist). A good idea might even be finding out more information from other people who already own these types of dogs since this may help alleviate some concerns around how much work the dog will need or whether it's likely going to get along with members of household
Want to know more?
It’s important to start preparing for your new friend as soon as you get the news. It might sound like a lot of work, but it will make your life easier in the long run.
One of the most important things on your new puppy checklist is picking out a crate. This isn't just any old crate. You want to find one that's big enough for the adult dog and select a style that makes sense with your home décor. For example, if you have an open concept condo, then a wire cage might not be the best option. Look into buying a wooden or plastic crate instead.
No. But the better trained your dog is, the more enjoyable your time with them will be. And a well-trained dog is usually much less destructive and is better on walks. It's also important to teach children how to properly interact with a dog.
It turns out that a lot of people are struggling to train their dogs. In fact, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) estimates that about 1 in 5 dogs are not properly trained. This is because a lot of people think they can do it on their own and don't get the help of a trainer just in case they're really struggling to train their puppy.
However, it's important to point out that you should at least be prepared to get the help of a trainer just in case you’re really struggling to train your puppy. This is because there are many benefits associated with having an expert aid you in training your dog.
